HHF: How long have you been modeling?
Sharla Bryan: I took modeling
seriously just over a year ago. I have been in a few pageants before, and I was
in acting as a child. but never pursued anything further than what my parents
enrolled me in, lol.
HHF: What inspired you to start
modeling?
Sharla Bryan: I have been surrounded
by the industry for the majority of my young adulthood but just never knew how
I wanted to be involved. Being 5'4 1/2, 36DD-27-42 i never really explored my
options of how i could be a model without being over 5'7.
After a long hiatus from acting/modeling as a child-preteen, i participated in
a few pageants and always walked away with the Miss Photogenic award. It
boosted my confidence to enter back into modeling but this time with clarity of
the direction I should take.
HHF: Are you looking to make a career
out of modeling or is it just a hobby for you?
Sharla Bryan: I would never enter
something blindly. Especially something that takes so much effort as modeling
to just make it just a hobby. My goal is to make it a career, but of course i
have other career plans as well that's not based on my esthetics. You have to
have your body and your mind tight to see any success as a product of the
entertainment industry, so I'm working hard on both.
HHF:
What are your views on video vixens?
Sharla Bryan: Today's video vixens I
believe to be business women. They are beautiful and have managed to
successfully capitalize on what a growing audience in the "urban
community" want to see. The majority of these women lifestyles don't
represent what they do within videos. that goes for the artists as well, lol.
HHF: If the rapper Game dissed you on
several records than made a video where he is talking about the modern day
video vixens, and his view on them. Would you be a cameo in his video if he
paid you $50,000? Why or why not?
Sharla Bryan: First of all, no man
is going to diss me on a track, on the street, in the club, on ANY forum/method
if he couldn't say to my face first. ANYONE who can't say what they feel needed
to be expressed to the individual personally, than i wouldn't take the
statement or the person seriously. But at the same time if you portray yourself
in a particular light and behave in unethical manner with gentlemen
promiscuously... People talk and/or will make a song about you. LOL.
If I had already made money from the industry and i can see that money($50 000)
from website hits alone within 3 months, than no. I would need far more than
50, 000 to even remotely consider being a feature in the video.
If he approached me NOW though waving a cheque of 50,000.... lol.
What do you do for a living and what are your hobbies?
Sharla Bryan: I LOVE TO COOK!!! I
love feeding the people I love, lol. My new thing is gardening! The initial
stages of gardening is a WORKOUT! serious slave work, lol. But its fun and
rewarding to see something flourish from your efforts. (just come to realize
that my hobbies could be shared interest with 65 year old woman)
My educational background consist of entertainment business management,
marketing, public relations and broadcast journalism. Based on that, I'm
organizing my own company offering marketing and public relations services to
help develop other companies or individuals (models, artists, etc.).
HHF: What can we expect from you for the rest of the year?
Sharla Bryan: I'm working hard on
business right now! My website will definitely be launched by the end of the
next quarter (www.sharlabryan.com). I'll be making more travels to the U.S to
expand my portfolio.
I'll be making some hip hop DVD features, calendar projects... trying get my
face out there. Hopefully I'll be doing it major!
